DJ Contest Terms & Conditions

  1. The DJ contest is open to DJs interested in performing at The Comfort Zone in Toronto during A.M.Sessions on Friday, January 03, 2025.
  2. Participants must submit a mix in one of the following genres: House, Tech House, Progressive, or Techno. Mixes outside these genres will not be considered.
  3. All mixes must be created exclusively by the DJ entering the contest.
  4. All mixes must be submitted by Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11:59 PM EST.
  5. Participants must be 19+.
  6. Participants must be Ontario residents.
  7. You must have at least one social media account, with Instagram being a mandatory requirement.
  8. Participants must be available on Friday, January 03, 2025, and have no other bookings that weekend.
  9. The contest is open to both amateur and professional DJs.
  10. Previous CZ DJ Contest winners are not eligible to participate.

DJ Contest Requirements

  1. Create a 45-minute mix showcasing the style you intend to play at The Comfort Zone if selected.
  2. Title your DJ mix as follows: Your DJ Name - #czdjcontest003.
  3. Upload your mix to your SoundCloud account and email the following information to
    czdj@comfortzonetoronto.ca. Make sure to include:

    • The SoundCloud link to your mix
    • Your social media handles (Facebook and Instagram)
  4. Share the SoundCloud link to your mix on both Facebook and Instagram (and any other social media accounts you maintain), tagging it with #czdjcontest003 and tagging The Comfort Zone on Facebook and Instagram.
  5. You must follow The Comfort Zone on both Facebook and Instagram to be eligible.
  6. Use the artwork provided at the bottom of this page for your SoundCloud mix and accompanying social media posts.

Winners

  1. Entries will be judged based on style, creativity, mixing quality, and social media engagement (e.g., number of plays, reposts, and shares).
  2. A total of 4 winners will be selected.
  3. Each winner will perform a 2-hour DJ set during the event. Set times will be allocated by The Comfort Zone and are non-negotiable.
  4. DJs will be compensated for their performances.
  5. Winners will be announced Monday, December 23, 2024, through The Comfort Zone's official social media channels.
  6. Winners are required (mandatory) to bring at least 15 paid attendees on the night of the show. Please note, the more people you bring, the greater the likelihood that The Comfort Zone will want to work with you in the future.
  7. Winners will be provided the final lineup artwork and are expected to actively promote the event on their social media platforms, including at least three posts leading up to the event.
  8. Winners will receive one complimentary guest list spot.

Disclaimer

Winning this contest and performing at the event does not guarantee future opportunities or bookings with The Comfort Zone. By entering, participants affirm that they meet all eligibility criteria and accept the terms and conditions outlined. Any fraudulent activity, such as purchasing plays, shares, or using unauthorized third-party tools to manipulate metrics, will lead to disqualification. Failure to comply with any contest requirements will also result in disqualification.
