First of all, how are you and how has your 2022 been going so far?
Amazing thank you. 2022 has been mad in the best way. Steady touring around North and Central America. Jumping into an insane summer schedule.
After a long closure, the world is finally opening up again. What have you missed most about DJing?
Yeah that paused time period was rough, but I was thankful for the time I was able to dedicate to studio production. I missed the energy of the crowd, and all the frequent movement around the globe connecting with different people and cultures. So grateful to be back at it.
How would you describe your sound?
I cross a lot of genres including tech house, techno, minimal and house. I tend towards grooves with a soulful aspect to it, and I like vocals used in an unconventional way.
What releases do you have lined up?
My next single is coming out on Repopulate Mars, and I have a track coming on Yousef’s label Circus Recordings plus music on my own label Sollors Systems.
Who are your biggest musical inspirations (DJ or production)?
Currently I’m really digging Jansons, Ben Sterling, Chris Lake, James Hurr, Gene Farris, CID, John Summit, Ranger Trucco and so many more. Grateful to be able to call a lot of these guys friends.
What are you planning on bringing to the table for your set this Friday night at A.M.Sessions?
I was so fortunate to have played the original Comfort Zone a few months before it shut down, and that was an extremely memorial experience alongside Deko-ze. I also have a 10 year long working relationship with Vancouver’s premier after-hours Gorgomish. I plan on pulling from the energy of those late nights into mornings to create and energy with the crowd. I have a lot of unreleased originals I’m gearing up to play as well.
What are your top 5 track selections that are guaranteed to go off?
Ben Sterling - Dimensions
Return Of The Jaded, Karsten Sollors - Step Into It
Crusy - Selecta
Jansons - Stutter
Mochakk - False Need
Ranger Trucco - Shawty
What's something no one knows about you?
I stopped eating animals 7 years ago, and completely plant based.
What will you do after answering these questions?
I’m actually on an airplane right now heading to Dallas, Texas to DJ tonight, because of bad weather the plane re-routed to Houston to re-fuel and is now finally back in the air flying back to Dallas. I’m already late and we’ve had to switch the set times around a bit, I’ll be heading straight to the club with my luggage and right into the booth to DJ, then I will sleep.
